The member representing Obanliku/Bekwarra/Obudu Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Akpanke has marked his one year anniversary as a member of the Federal House of Representatives in a grand style.
Akpanke who began the four (4) days program with a Thanksgiving Mass and Solemn Assembly Service proceeded to lay foundations for the construction of six (6) classrooms block at St. Sylvester Secondary School, Ububa Iye and Government Secondary School Utanga, in Bekwarra and Obanliku Local Government Areas respectively.
The lawmaker also facilitated empowerment program for widows and other women following the distribution of Sewing and grinding machines to two hundred (200) women across the three (3) sisters LGAs of the Federal Constituency.
The Vice Chairman, House Committee on FCT and Ancillary Matters expressed concerns over the state of the economy, particularly the high cost of staple food. He enjoined constituents to exercise patience with the government, as far-reaching policy decisions are being put in place to get the long term desired results.
He promised to continually liase and consult with them in a bid to ensure that his programs and ideas will be impactful and cause the desired transformation in the Federal Constituency.
Constituents expressed their gratitude and happiness to Hon. Akpanke for the great fit he has achieved in just one year. They prayed for him and promised to continue to give him the needed support to enable him achieve the desired goal.
